Hey, I’m Tom Mark from Entertainmentopia.
Just wanted to say your site looks great. My friend Scott and I sat in front of Thom and his brother this morning at "The Hulk" and he had mentioned this site.
I shall post here from time to time, or try to as much as I can. _________________ ---Another Tom Mark Post---

Welcome to the boards, Tom.
So everyone knows, Tom is co-founder of Entertainmentopia, another Pheonix-based review website. Our sites have overlapping interests & purposes (Entopia reviews music, video games, and much more, while we specialize in the two-scale review system for movies) so I hope the two sites might find ways to work together.
Tom, feel free to post a little about yourself and the site in our Introductions thread, in case this thread gets buried with time. |

So, I've just been randomly going through old threads and I came across this one.
I checked out Entertainmentopia...and I've gotta ask people...
Do you readers LIKE the sort of extremely cluttered front page and side bars websites like this and Film Threat and others boast?
I'm not insulting it, but I'm just trying to gauge the likes and dislikes of folks. It is something that has always turned me off, and while they have the excuse of reviewing all sorts of media, it still has always been something I've had a personal problem with.
But is our front page TOO sparse (keep in mind there will be some things added to it, but for the most part we want to keep people from being overwhelmed and having to scroll for 3 years to get to the bottom of the front page)?
I'm genuinely curious here. |

I enjoy minimalism. There's too much information on Entertainmentopia's page; far too many images and small, almost unreadable text makes focusing on one "blurb" almost impossible. |

Yeah. Those guys at Entopia are actually locals I was considering tryin' to hook up with to do cross-site promotions or even some sort of merge with, but I got to looking at their site and it's mostly just one of those "small group of anonymous friends collecting themselves online pretending to be a media hub".
I mean, no offense... They do have plenty of content and stuff, but there's nothing that sets them apart from all of the rest. And that the site has NO focus (and thus, Too Much Information)... I just didn't pursue it any.
I just poked my head in there last week for the first time in months. We've changed a hell of a lot more in that time than they have. |

Cool. Yeah...after making this initial post...I recieved a very displeased IM from Nikcon, angry that I had even pointed out the site to him. It apparently didn't sit well with him. Works for me. |
