Well... I got a new car today. And almost more than just "new". Practically NEW.
2005 Hyundai Elantra, 15k miles, automatic, power everything. Sticker price was $16,999. I got it for... Let's just say I have connections.
(This is a nearly identical Elantra... In fact, it was on the same lot.)
I'm happy with it. The payments are up there, but still comfortable even with my current job. If I get the job with Town of Gilbert ($18/hr) I'll be more than comfortable.
I do need to consider some upgrades.
1. Tint, just because my cousin Matt can get me the hook-up. Nothing too dark.
2. A new deck. It's only got a tape player, no CD. I'll need something that works with my iPod Shuffle though.
3. Rims. It's just got wheel covers right now.
But how cool, eh? A practically new car. This is totally different for me. |

So no Adam eh?
That's still sweet. Just remember... you are not in Germany.
Now that you have a car that maybe won't die, are you going to drive around the country meeting staff? Did you know we have staff from CA-NY?!?! Isn't that frickin' awesome?!?! You can even visit Canada and hang out with Al!!
Eh... maybe that's just my dream. ::sniffle:: Too bad my suspension just decided to alert me to a possible problem. So my car will be going BACK into the shop. Stupid caddie. My parents must have cursed this car, I swear. Maybe I'll post pictures later.
I still will never love a car as much as I loved my Tornado (not tornAdo). That was a sweet sweet car and I miss it sooo much. It was also my first car. Then, because I was so naughty with my Tornado (I was a bit of a troubled-driver when I was a teenager), I ended up having to buy my grandma's Taurus. Only $3,000. So then I adored my Taurus, despite Mac's continuous attitude about my Taurus being inferior and that it was going to explode someday.
Honestly, I still miss my Taurus, because this caddie, while totally sweet... has been a pain in my ass for the last 9 months. I have probably spent almost $1000 fixing the damned thing. I almost wish I hadn't traded my taurus for it. Stupid hand-me-downs. Someday I'll have a brand new car. I do accept donations, though, to the "help monkey get a kickass new car" fund.
Its totally sweet, Thom, though... seriously.

Grr... Of course it couldn't go too smoothly.
Got up early to call the insurance company this morning... Being that it's my name on the car title, I've gotta get my own policy, and yet even though I'm living in the same household as my parents (who were the main policy-holders on my truck) they won't count it for the multi-car discount. Which puts it at frigging $1300 per six months. DOUBLE what I was paying before.
So right now I'm looking at *sigh* getting my parents on the title, even though I'm paying for the whole damn thing, just so I can get a better deal on insurance. I'm gonna shop around though. |

wow... that really sucks... when i was getting in trouble for car stuff.. my parents' insurance went up and mine was $1000 every six months. NOw its like... $300 something. Its probably cause you got a new car that is better suited for street racing than every day driving. j/k
Good luck with that. Insurance companies suck!

do you want to trade cars? I could really use one right now.
I just took my car in, because the wheel locked up so much that I have steering wheel burns on my hands... they are sooooo sore. Anyways!
They want to replace the power steering pump and some pin and because it is a caddie the parts are really expensive. We're looking at about $2000.... seriously... I hate this car. I REALLY hate this car... I sooo need a new one. I have never had a car this bad and I haven't even had this thing for a year yet. Frickin' incredible ya' know? I've already dished out almost $5000... and I had to give up my perfectly fine Taurus (that had jst had pretty much all its over 100,000 stuff fixed)....
So my advice... don't trust your parents when they offer you a new car. Cause you never know what you're gonna get.
