So what is everyone doing on Thanksgiving? Do you have any quirky traditions?
I've been told that the family place where we spend thanksgiving in North Carolina will be having thanksgiving at Golden Corral. (a buffet restaraunt).
typically, they make Thanksgiving dinner and we all go over there (me and ray and his parents and my sister-in-law and her husband and my nephew). Apparently this person got sick of hosting and instead of passing it on to someone else to host for the family (like maybe Ray's sister who ADORES doing stuff like that), she says they're going to Golden Corral. i'd say its all about family, but um... the only person I care about (other than ray's parents and siblings who i can see later in the day) is Ray's grandmother. So I'm not going. I will not allow for his irritating aunt to taint a special family holiday.
what makes me even sadder is that I can't go home without leaving Ray behind. My parents are having two Thanksgivings. One on Thanksgiving at a family friend's house and on Friday going up north to have a ham thanksgiving with my grandparents. Man I miss my family.... what women do for love.. eh?
how about we have an SP Thanksgiving. I'll bring the turkey if you bring the pop... corn? Well, whatever. So what are ya'll doing? Anyone going on vacations or anything fun? _________________ Playing the world's smallest violin while nothing burns. |

I've been informed that my traditional green bean cassarole isn't good enough and that I am required to allow Ray's sister to make it. WHATEVER!!!
the corn sounds good. Let me check and see if Juliette has plans for the corn.

I'm gonna stuff myself with turkey and then sleep away the rest of the afternoon in a triptophane-induced haze of glory. _________________ "Trying is the first step toward failure." -Homer Simpson |

you men have it so easy on Thanksgiving.
we're thinking of doing a movie marathon. I wanted to do Star Wars and Ray wanted to do MST3K (but his sister HATES MST3K).... then I suggested just picking out some quality movies to have playing in the background, since Ray's family isn't into the whole sports thing. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be Turkey-Day related.

This is just about the time of year to break out Christmas Vacation.
Ooh, and Planes, Trains & Automobiles... hell yeah.

this is really sad to say... but... I have actually never seen Planes, Trains and Automobiles.... I've seen parts on AMC, but... I've never watched the whole thing through. I so need to brush up on my 80s comedies.

There's a great scene that's never on TV in PTA where the word "fuck" is said like 25 times. _________________ "Trying is the first step toward failure." -Homer Simpson |

Brilliant, hilarious movie. Sometimes I think it's my favorite John Hughes flick. |

ok... rented Planes, Trains and Automobiles, but when I went out sh opping with my sister-in-law yesterday she informed me she wants to play christmas music.
Um... yeah. I'll keep ya'll posted. My two different pumpkin pies are done and boy does the house smell great. On to stuffing and yams and whatnot.
What are you all Thankful for this year? (I know... lame question, but... if the tabloids are right, which I had a long time to read at the grocery store yesterday... and we really are living in the end times... we should be aware of what makes us happy!! I really don't believe that...HAHAHA!) _________________ Playing the world's smallest violin while nothing burns. |
