Welcome and thanks for the kind words. I am sure Monkey is thrilled to see more women folk 'round these here parts.

You're welcome and thanks! I had a nice chat with her last night on IM, and it seems we have already found a few things in common. Smile

Hi all, I'm Brandon. I'm a writer from Virginia. I'm a good friend of Bachalon. He told me about this site, and I love it so far. My film tastes are varied. Among my favorites: American Beauty, Silence of the Lambs, The Hunt for Red October. Anyway, I look forward to being here and getting to know you all.

Hi Brandon. Welcome to the site.

It's a bit dead right now. I think half of our staff is bracing for Rita. Shocked

My name is Donna A. I just found your movie fourm. I am looking forward in talking movies. I usually wait for them to come out on DVD. The seats are cheaper and so are the snacks.

Surprised Maybe. I may look like that person that has a movie journal. And I hear she is cute as all get out. Then again I may not be that cute as a button person. Wink

Yes I am that person. I really love that site. I am also on JoBlo.com. I am pretty much a pest on most major movie forum.

Just wanted to say a hail and hearty hello to all and sundry. New to these parts but not at all new to the wacky world of the intarweb. Interested in movies, episodic tv (especially arc-y stuff), reading, writing, music (playing, pimping, and promoting), computer hardware and software (system building, troubleshooting), drawing, various fandoms.

I'm kinda sleepy and will beat myself up for forgetting stuff but here's some cool things off the top of my head...

movies: House of Yes, Donnie Darko, Saw, Serenity, True Romance, Chasing Amy, Life of Brian, Breakfast at Tiffany's, the shawshank redemption, american history x, etc etc etc etc etc

tv: angel, buffy, firefly, arrested development, veronica mars, scrubs, the shield, rescue me, the job, six feet under, deep space nine, sex & the city, spaced, black books, look around you, bob & rose etc etc etc etc etc

reading: neil gaiman, neal stephenson, alan moore, caitlin r. kiernan, mercedes lackey, michael moorcock, firtz lieber, robert heinlein, qwill eisner, neil peart, ken wilber, camille paglia, humberto eco, j.r.r. tolkien etc etc etc etc etc

music: rush, tori amos, live, stuart davis, brenda weiler, elvis costello, ben folds five, 16 horsepower, ani difranco, atmosphere, bright eyes, common rotation, counting crows, dar williams, katie todd band, new model army, five iron frenzy, soul coughing, flash girls, matisyahu, mike doughty, the levellers, poe, rasputina, morphine, pigface etc etc etc etc etc

computers: love building and playing with all kinds of computer hardware/operating systems, especially pc hardware as i am a bit of a pc gaming freak. keep up on processors, memory tech, chipsets, video cards. my day job is supporting enterprise backup software. interested in open source projects like gallery, phpBB, etc.

fandoms i have known: the original view askew boards, tori, toad the wet sprocket, did reviews for gamestats.com, was a newshound for comics2film, am currently a mod for whedonesque.com and an admin for whedonesque.org and whedonesque-the library @ flickr.

am also the webmaster for dreamusher.com and godmonkey.com, co-webmaster for stuartdavis.com and dpsangha.com.

good to meet yas Smile
