30 Jul 2004 06:09 pm Post subject: The thread of general discussion |
|
|
This thread contains incredible general discussive power. Behold the power of discussing the generic.
BEHOLD IT!
Now generally, general discussion discusses more than the generic discussive power of a Discusser General. However, generically, this instance is an exception to that rule through the generalization of generalities relating to the generalness of discussible discussables.
Furthermore, aah. _________________

Just because you're invincible doesn't mean you can throw your weight around, Larry.
Now I'll wait with bated breath to see what clever non sequitur you'll pull out of your prickly little craw.
Incidentally, I know this forum lacks some of the ameneties you/we might be used to. Do any of them matter? It's been so long since I posted that I don't really know. |

This place just seemed so dead that it didn't really matter to me if this thread and I were openly greeted or speared through the chest with a trident. I'm here making a stand against silence, because silence killed my favorite sounds. _________________

Yeah. It's dead here alright. But at least it's pretty. Doesn't she make you wanna just...post on her. Mmm...look at that porcelain reply panel. Just makes you wanna POST SO HARD. --shudder-- |

Ahh... I can sense the camaraderie via the extremely bizarre in-jokes leaving me cross-eyed.
I'm afraid I'm not as forum-savvy as I once was, having had my head stuck in the programming sand that is the foundation of the site. (Wait, are you supposed to build on sand? Oops.) At any rate, if anyone has suggestions for features to add, just let me know... There are tons of mods for this forum system, chances are they'll have what you want. That goes for anyone here.
And welcome to the site! Feel free to talk amongst yourselves... good, I think you got that part down already. |

Pretend Larlar is Hunter S. Thompson. You should be able to accept it more then. |

Hey, speaking of Hunter S. Thompson, I got a DVD screener in the mail the other day for this doc called "Breakfast with Hunter". I'm supposed to watch & review it sometime... I guess I should do so this weekend. |

I must ask you to stop hijacking this thread into a less-than-general discussion. Failure to comply will result in something bad happening to you between now and your time of death. _________________

Well then, for the sake of generality, this may or may not be an answer to a question somebody recently posed:
There is a certain movie showcasing an overweight filmmaker, one allegedly took place in early hours of the night... Which I have still not seen. |

A spoiler mod seems necessary. |

Yeah..so we can make a Village thread and spoiler the whole damn thing.
I'm actually more than a little surprised at the seemingly vitriolic hatred being directed at that film. I mean....some of the people hated Unbreakable and Signs too. One of which I loved and the other which I enjoyed. But I have to wonder if people were expecting something else from The Village and simply can't see the forest through the trees.
Not that I'm saying it is something superb. Just that...there's more disappointment that I really think is necessary. |

A lot of people seemed to have had Sixth Sense "ruined" for them.
I was among them...but it really didn't ruin it for me. I suppose if I HAD gotten to experience the twist of the film freshly I would have been even more awed, but as it is, it still stands as one of the best films of '99...which was a great year for cinema to begin with. |

Also...now that I'm posting, I remember how irritating the "YOU SUCCESSFULLY POSTED! GOOD FOR YOU!" page is. Let's get rid of that and have it take us directly to the forum index or whatever. |
