Well my backup copy of Evanescence's debut CD Origin is usually in my CD player when I take it out with me. I was brining teh actual CD with me, but I hear since it sold out on their site that it's going for like $60-$100 on E-Bay.
Before that I was playing Loudermilk's Red Album. I first started playing '97 Ways to Kill a Superhero' alot, then i got their CD and really liked the first two songs, 'Estrogen Oxygen Aches in the Teeth Again' and 'California'.
Also, I recently looked up Boy Hits Car again. A friend reccomended them a while ago for a more edgier hard rock sound. I rather like their 'I'm a Cloud'. Other various songs include Vanessa Carlton's 'Paitn it Black' cover and Gary Jules' depressing cover of 'Mad World' from Donnie Darko.
Speaking of depressing, especallly when I'm in that mood, a good depressing heartbrak song is 'Komm Susser Tod' from the End of Evangelion sound track. It's basically a song about how the main character is stick of everything and wants the world to end... which it does. Really nice, though kinda depressing song, from one of the most messed up movies ever made.
Also in anime, the Hellsing soundtracks are pretty good. I dunno how to describe them other than goth and good vampirie music. The second one has some more rocking guitar work though. If you can, check out the theme 'COOL ~Logos naki World~ (Cool The world without Logos)' and 'Bodhisattva Cathedral'.

Yay! More representin' for the Get-Up Kids!
Good luck on your final, BTW, Sarah.
Right now I'm listening to the Suite from X2.
"Mutation. It is the key to our evolution.
It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet.
The process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years,
But every few hundred millenia, evolution leaps forward."

Putting your views on the movie Capturing the Friedman's aside, did you ever listen to the soundtrack for it, Reel Monkey? It's unbelievable. Check it out, if you ever get a chance. _________________

Hmm... I'm possibly under the impression my opinions on Capturing the Friedman's might have been misread. I thought it was interesting, but it could have been done so much better and eh... it was ok. Either way, I do remember the soundtrack and it wasn't bad. I was also just picking on Mac, because he hasn't hooked up the sound on my computer, so I always get stuck listening to whatever he wants to listen to. _________________ Playing the world's smallest violin while nothing burns. |
