ok ok... I just got it.

Its composed by Patrick Doyle, not... John Williams and its... so frickin' strange to listen to. Much darker... much more sinister. Its really neat. Seriously.... my hopes are soaring!!

Previewed it. Didn't buy it. (I don't often listen to soundtracks.) The Dark Mark preview sounds a lot like Night on Bald Mountain. So dark, probably yeah. (But then, I don't know what the first three sound like. What am I even doing in this thread? Razz)

I bought it!!! Before the film came out (it's a tradition, I just have to have the HP soundtrack to listen to and from the theater). John Williams it ain't, but it's definitely excellent.

Applause Finally! Someone says they LIKE the GoF Soundtrack! All the namby-pambys on iTunes hate the Soundtrack! Well, in a sense, some of the tracks are a bit wierd (i.e.: The Dark Mark), but Voldemort is a well done track, considering the horrific "Outward Spawning" in the film. Eeeuh!

After listening very closely to the Sorcerer's Stone and Goblet of Fire soundtracks (I didn't have the other two handy but they're pretty much more of the same John Williams stuff), I think GoF soundtrack is vastly superior to Williams work although the staple bits like the main theme are great and ingrained into our subconcious.

Also: Welcome.

I think Patrick Doyle did an amazing job creating a new score off of the well-estbalished Williams score. The music incorporated into the film so well and breathed a new life into the series. I really enjoyed its diversity. I totally talk it up on our podcast about Harry Potter. I'm a huge soundtrack nut. I'm at the point where I can pick out a established composer just by hearing a section of a score from a film. It's so neat.

But yeah... I thought the soundtrack was quite good and very interesting. I can't believe people are being difficult about it. I sampled it and d/led it immediately I enjoyed it THAT much. Hyper!

One day we'll have to play name the tune with film scores and see how well you do.
