What are you seeing this Weekend Friday October 27th

A relatively light opening weekend with just two wide releases and one limited platform release. Most movies likely wanted to get out of the way of the Halloween juggernaut Saw 3. Though it's appeal is likely to be as a one weekend wonder, the one weekend could reach near the 40 million dollar mark.
The only new release challenging Saw 3 this weekend is a political thriller set in Africa starring Tim Robbins. Though Catch A Fire is getting really good reviews and even some awards talk, no one is making the case that the film will be a box office contender.
One of the odder expanding films is a one time award contender that is currently getting roasted by critics. Running With Scissors starring Annette Bening and Josef Fiennes is rolling out on 600 screens this weekend. It needs to do strong numbers to get to more screens in the next few weeks but if the reviews keep going south, further expansion seems unlikely.

Babel was brilliant by the way. Best film of the year, so far.
