The only reason I went to see this movie at all was because Thom is big into Comic Books and asked if I wanted to go. I hadn't even seen the first one...didn't realize there WAS a first one until I saw it was X-men 2. I had few expectations because I had not even heard anyone talk about it.

I would have to say that was one of the best introductions I had ever seen. While I was not aware whether he was on the good side or bad side (I asked ;)) I knew that I was interested in the character. I liked seeing all the characters and following all their plots. They all intertwined well and there was enough information that I either did not have to know a thing about the character or it was provided. The plot kept me intrigued even though I had no personal attachment to the characters prior to seeing the movie.

The romance was not too heavy, the action was well paced, the characters were easy to like and root for, even if they were not full of good intentions. The story flowed well and I could follow it all even though I had no knowledge of what I was watching. The entire movie I sat mesmerized...again mostly because I had no expectations of this movie. There was so much to take in and so many things to contemplate throughout the movie I was never bored or asking myself when things would pick up.
Final

I liked this movie so much I actually went to see it again in the theatres. It almost convinced me to see the first one... almost. I realized you don't have to be a comic book junkie to watch a movie like this.
